Considerations for design:

What goes through your mind when you choose a beer at a bar or restaurant?  Do you want a good beer or a cheap beer?  Do you like trying new things?  If so, what new things catch your interests?  All these thoughts ran through my head as I began my preliminary sketches for this study. The name O’Connell is a famous Irish name, and must be laced with Irish flash.  What do Irish people pride themselves on?  Luck..... Being Lucky.... Fighting.... eh... let’s stay with Lucky. Irish also love to drink.  Bingo! The logo will be a lucky drunk Irishman!  The beer in the bottle will be a stout, which will make the color of it very dark.  I decided to make use of light and dark greens with just enough light browns and white to make the label pop.  To convey the idea that this beer has already become successful, I incorporated “Old” into the name of the drink. “Old Lucky Stout”.  With a little humor it’s a name that can flow as easily out the lips as the beer flows back in.  Now, that It’s completed, beer company pass me down me lucky pot of gold!

Considerations for design:

This Project has been a very difficult process.  I have a BFA in graphic design, and my skills are in designing layouts.  This project contains massive layers of programming mumbo jumbo that most webmaster professionals can’t even swing a stick at.  From real time clothing layering to experience points  based on eating hotdogs, I had to incorporate over 20,000 movable parts to be understandable and user friendly to new members.  I designed this site as I progressed as the sites lead artist.  From drawing every item to creating the new look, this project has been months in the making and will take months more to complete.  I wanted to show just how much easier things can be to a user based on simplicity and similar use proximity.  The site is still under construction, but here are a few snapshots to show how far it has come.

Due to protection of this site and it’s owner, larger files of each of these images can only be released by request.  Please email me with any questions.

Considerations for design:

In 2008, I had the privilege of working as the director of sales for a surveillance company called Tundra Security.  This job gave me great insight into the world of marketing and sales. More importantly they used me for my art talents as well.  Tundra Security is a software development company under a surveillance hardware distributer that specializes in POS integrations. They have a very unique in-house Point of Sale software they want to sell to users of a certain register system called MICROS.  Confused?  So was I... So I decided to ask if I could create them an identity.  Tundra needed a website that they could link future costumers with to help them understand the process visually.  I was given the go ahead by the boss, and this is what I came up with.  www.tundrasecurity.com

Every image on this site was created by me.  From the wild photoshop graphics, to the photos, to the live demo box that was created for a convention in Las Vegas last year.  I enjoyed working with them, and I think I helped them as much as that job helped me.
